A Fun Night With The Dems

Last night I had the great pleasure of attending the Shrewsbury Democratic Town Committee's biannual Eleanor Roosevelt Awards. As previously reported, Deb Peeples, John Keeton, and Guy Glodis were given awards and the committee recognized the late Michael Von Behren and Thomas and Thelma Zekos. The night was emceed by Kevin Byrne. I won two door prizes!

In addition to the honorees, speakers included Peter Whitney (President of the Town Committee), Congressman Jim McGovern, State Senator Mike Moore, Congressman Mike Capuano (candidate for U.S. Senator), and Steve Grossman (a former DNC & MDP chairman, and candidate for State Treasurer).

They spoke to a friendly crowd. I, for one, was thrilled to hear Congressman McGovern cheer us on for supporting health insurance reform.

There were, however, some Republicans in the house. Jim & Hannah Kane were there with Moira Miller. I believe they were there to recognize Deb Peeples.

That's nice Jim Mcgovern is taking time off from writing mash notes to Fidel Castro and supporting Central American Communist Strongman Dictators to pay attention to what's going on in this country. Unfortunately he's on the wrong side...again.

Charming comment. There are many pros and cons to all politicians, but that's all you've got? That Jim McGovern likes commies? You can do better.

Eleanor Roosevelt's life had a lot of flaws but if the Democratic Committe want to honor her, so be it.
I figure that I read too many books about Eleanor.

Folks, Mother Theresa had flaws, to be human is to flaw. Like beauty; flaws are in the eyes of the beholder. Geez, I sound like a bumper sticker.

So Mark you crossed a picket line, eh? What did you think of the CO's protesting?
